Tourism Highway Signage Program - Sign Up Alberta
The new Tourism Highway Signage Program brings a whole new look to Alberta's highways. It is designed to support the efforts of the tourism industry by ensuring that visitors are provided with the essential highway-based directional and way finding information to enhance the quality of their travel experience within the province.
The program is supported by two broad signage categories:
- TODS - tourism oriented directional signs
- Logo Signs - signage for service businesses such as food, gas and lodging
The signs are blue and white in color, and consistent with the color scheme employed by other jurisdictions throughout North America and Europe.
An important feature of the new program is that it provides signage opportunities for a broader range of tourism facilities than what was available in the past, and ensures that applications from across the province are reviewed in a fair and consistent fashion.
The new program ensures that signs, whether for TODS or Logos, are also designed, fabricated, installed and maintained in a consistent fashion. This ensures that the signage system throughout the province provides the same high-quality appearance to the benefit of the entire industry.
