About Us
Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture provides a diverse range of programs that support a high quality of life for Albertans, and makes Alberta an attractive tourism destination.
The preservation of Alberta's natural heritage and historical resources is realized through a network of provincial parks and protected areas, the Provincial Archives of Alberta and world renowned museums and historic sites that are enjoyed by millions of visitors each year. We support the development and marketing of these and other tourism destinations.
Quality of life is promoted through programs that provide financial support for community enhancement and that support the non-profit/voluntary sector, sport and recreation, the arts, film and heritage. Albertans also benefit from human rights legislation that promotes fairness and full participation in the social, economic and cultural life of the province.
